In Italia abbiamo cose bellissime, ma sappiamo distruggerle in modo impeccabile. Ieri ero in centro per vedere la mostra di Walter Bonatti a Palazzo della Ragione, una bella mostra, autentica e semplice forse del più grande esploratore italiano moderno. All'uscita, l'indescrivibile folla di Sant'Ambrogio e la vista della trascuratezza di piazza Mercanti fanno venir voglia di tornare dentro a godere scorci di Patagonia. Piazza Mercanti è veramente abbandonata e non valorizzata pur essendo un luogo molto caratteristico, è imbruttito da una edicola e distrutto da un McDonald's. Lasciato poi al degrado urbano in occasioni di folla da il peggio di se. In foto il caratteristico pozzo del secolo XVI, sormontato dal secolo XVIII da due colonne con trabeazione.
