Il Palais de Chaillot, chiamato anche Trocadero, è situato sulla collina di Chaillot nel 16° arrondissement, di fronte alla Torre Eiffel. Il Palazzo è stato costruito, al posto del vecchio Palais du Trocadéro, per l'Esposizione Universale del 1937 dagli architetti Léon Azéma, Jacques Carlu e Louis-Hippolyte Boileau, i quali hanno conferito al nuovo palazzo uno stile neoclassico. Il Palais de Chaillot è composto da due padiglioni e due ali curve che circondano il vasto spiazzo centrale detto Parvis des Droits de l'Homme, il quale conduce ad un'ampia terrazza dalla quale è possibile godere di uno dei panorami più belli di Parigi. L'intero edificio è caratterizzato da meravigliose statue realizzate da artisti quali Paul Belmondo, Léon-Ernest Drivier e Marcel Gimond. Il Palais de Chaillot ospita oggi il Thé?tre National de Chaillot, il Musée de l'Homme, il Musée de la Marine e la Cité de l'Architecture e du Patrimoine.
