I like the composition.

but depth of field and exposure would be improved.

close the iris would have a minimum helped, even if it means giving up a perfect backdrop.
wing end photographing macro subjects, not backgrounds.
second exposure.
perhaps less time would help to recall the highlights and details of orchid labella. that facing upwards, are dazzled by the light.
the term "dazzled" maybe I exaggerated, but I hope you get the idea.

have focused on pollinia and loss of focus on the labella svraesposti played "against"
the focus, emphasizes the lack of details.

Just yesterday I added to my website a little "tutorial" (but it is excessive to call it that) on how well balance the exposure in cases of strong contrast.

if you want to read it:

my photos are not exceptional, but the example should fit.
I hope it will be useful.

personally, I prefer to beat me on the field with photoshop ...

Obviously every situation is open, it is only a story of him ...

in fact with more focal distances closes better the background, but at the same scene also have less pdc. ... it is always to choose the best compromise.
I no longer have either the 180mm nor 105mm ... and it's a good one.

can be your friend if further help, here is a useful link, where you can pre-calculate the depth of field available:
inseirsci SLR, lens and iris ...
