Gesto di osservanza e rispetto verso il Cristo morto che passa proprio nella strada sotto la Società in occasione della processione del Venerdì Santo. San Fratello è ormai diventato celebre per i tradizionali ed antichissimi riti della Settimana Santa come, per esempio quello della Festa dei Giudei, festa di origine pagana. Quest'ultima rappresenta, indubbiamente, una delle manifestazioni più seguite e più note in Italia. I Giudei, in sostanza, sono impersonificati dai cittadini sanfratellani che, con particolari e pittoreschi costumi (che non consentono di vedere il volto di chi li indossa) girano per la città suonando con particolari trombe per festeggiare la morte di Gesù Cristo e disturbare la processione religiosa che commemora la Passione di Gesù. In parole povere un particolare esempio di "unione" tra sacro e profano; una commistione tra il dolore e la fastosità tipica delle feste carnevalesche. I costumi indossati dai sanfratellani in tale pittoresca circostanza ricordano in parte quelli dei soldati romani che flagellarono Gesù; sono di proprietà delle famiglie del posto e si tramandano da padre in figlio. In passato la festa era più pericolosa, tanto che veniva proibita, in quella occasione, la vendita di alcolici. Oggi, rappresenta, invece, un sereno momento di "folklore" e "tradizione popolare".
