Tramonto sulla kasbah di Ait Benhaddou. La kasbah (tighremt in berbero) ha rivestito a lungo il ruolo di castello fortificato, fungendo da rifugio contro gli assalti e proteggendo dal freddo e dalle intemperie. Residenza dei signori o dimora di una famiglia, la kasbah è un imponente costruzione a pinta quadrata. Mentre le kasbah delle valli di montagna sono tozze, quelle delle oasi meridionali hanno un aspetto più alto e slanciato.
