Dopo poche ore di pattugliamento scorgiamo un testone dorato in mezzo alla verdissima vegetazione della costa. Resto a bocca aperta: è grosso, incredibilmente grosso, molto di più che nella mia immaginazione. Istintivamente alzo la mira e scatto. Spento il motore della barchetta per non disturbarlo, ci facciamo trasportare dalla corrente mentre si inoltra tra le erbe alte e folte, e dopo pochi secondi, scompare. Aspettiamo ancora qualche minuto, con tutti i nervi tesi, nel silenzio, ma niente, se ne è andato. Solo allora mi rilasso e guardo il display della macchina foto. Got it! L'emozione è incredibile, anche se i pochi secondi di apparizione non mi hanno neanche permesso di gustarmi il momento, sono incredibilmente soddisfatto di essere riuscito a scattare e anche discretamente bene, considerando le oscillazioni della barca, la distanza (una quarantina di metri), e il poco tempo a disposizione.
