Navigando sotto costa, ci siamo imbattuti in questa scena a dir poco rara. Un cucciolo di pochi giorni che neppure il barcaiolo, nativo del luogo aveva mai visto. Solitamente la madre lo tiene nascosto e solo dopo qualche settimana lo porta a spasso. Notare le proporzioni, l'intero corpo del cucciolo non è grande tanto quanto il muso della madre.
E' nota la pericolosità degli ippopotami, in Africa uccidono più uomini di coccodrilli ed elefanti. Consapevoli che con un semplice starnuto avrebbe potuto rovesciare la barca, son riuscito a fare solo una raffica anche perchè l'allegra famigliola è subito sparita fra le frasche e le ninfee della palude......... noi evidentemente abbiamo fatto la stessa cosa ma nella direzione opposta

Al titola aggiungerei anche incontro ravvicinato. 250 mm sono davvero pochi metri.
Davvero piccolo il cucciolo, uno scatto molto interessante.
