La Rocca, con i resti delle fortificazioni medievali ha una storia molto complicata e controversa, ma che ebbe come periodo più conosciuto gli anni successivi al 1295, quando divenne il centro del famoso Brigante e Soldato Ghino di Tacco, una sorta di Robin Hood dell'epoca. Oggi, l'intero Castello è visitabile e restaurato, compresi tutti i camminamenti sotterranei e le postazioni di tiro, al suo interno vi è anche un museo Archeologico contenente reperti rinvenuti durante i restauri.
