Nome scientifico: Trichopoda pennipes (Fabricius, 1781) Descrizione della specie: è un dittero della famiglia Tachinidae, parassitoide della cimice verde Nezara viridula, per il quale viene usato come regolatore di presenza, la dove ce ne siano in gran quantità. Questo Tachinide è molto particolare, a parte la vera bellezza, può avere l'addome nero o arancione, ali sfumate di nero con contorni trasparenti, zampe nere con i piedi gialli e delle setole tipo spazzolino nel retro delle zampe posteriori, Questo dittero è delle dimensioni di una grande mosca . Ha una testa nera con grandi occhi marroni, I maschi hanno una macchia scura sulle ali e le femmine hanno una punta scura sull'addome. Se vi sono più larve in un corpo, solo una sopravvive. Dopo l'alimentazione sui tessuti del'insetto, la larva color crema emerge e cade a terra, dove impupa in un bruno-rossastro puparium formata dall'ultima pelle larvale. L'insetto nel frattempo muore . Dopo circa due settimane, una mosca adulta emerge dalla pupa.
