Non ero partito per fare questa foto. Volevo invece inquadrare le lotte fra gemsbok, ne vedi un esempio in questa galleria. Nella savana, tutto avviene lentamente. Sono stato li' per circa tre ore. La fotografia ti costringe alle attese, ma e' li' che si comprende piu' intimamente cio' che ci circonda, e lo si guarda con occhi piu' profondi. E' questo forse cio' che piu' amo della fotografia. Durante queste attese, ho notato che un gruppo di uccelli si raccoglieva sul terreno, per poi dipartirne con straordinaria coordinazione. L'occhio ha si e' adattato spontaneamente, mettendo a fuoco il soggetto in movimento. Cosi' io ho fatto con la fotocamera, cercando di fare risaltare la nuova prospettiva. Ho avuto solo due occasioni di scattare in questa condizione. Nella seconda, ho avuto la fortuna che i gemsbok fossere allineati, come in posa, a rappresentare la savana e che gli uccelli fossero dispersi nell'immagine.

I was not party to make this picture. I wanted instead to frame the struggle between gemsbok, I see an example in this gallery. In the savanna, everything happens slowly.
