Un plauso all'intenzione.

A praise intention.
I believe that a free hand, as far as the optics is relatively light, with that speed in a shake-s'incorra easily. I think that with a tripod so you can close the aperture larger picture would have bought more weight.

Ciao Pigi.

Hello Pigi. Yes, definitely a tripod would help, given the slight breeze. I am sorry for not having brought with me. On the other hand, more close to the diaphragm, according to my point of view, would not have changed practically nothing, given the location of the front of the subject.

No doubt what you say is true, but they are two ways of looking at the photo, of course respect your opinion, but it seems fair comparison of different points of view.
If everything was focused only on the first floor of the dragonfly with a recovery very close so that only the bigwigs proves the point under consideration do not argue, of course, if the diaphragm with its pdc made it clear around the muzzle. Considering instead a distance as the photo to comment, where the roost has its own importance given that it is not just a point of interest I would have rather seen with greater clarity, which is why the extension of the pdc. As mentioned, however, is a different way of interpreting the image.

Of course, on this I agree with you. greater clarity on the perch would have been even better. In this case I could raise the ISO values ??and try to turn a little more, although with the 40D, being an old car, for much more out of calibration in my case (due to intense use now), I have not trusted to go further. I will keep your advice in mind for future shots.
