Un uomo.. un mito..!! Paolo Caluschi, detto "Calle"... Un maestro nel riparare calzature di ogni tipo... e un mago nel farle sparire chissà dove...!!! La sua frase ricorrente, tartagliando con il perenne sigaro in bocca era.." Du-du-du-duman.. duman tei fò..!!! " In molti le aspettano ancora oggi...!!! La sua piccola bottega era situata sull'angolo della piazza, luogo ideale per spettegolare su tutti quelli che la attraversavano... Motivo per cui, ritrovo di alcune "generazioni" di sbarbati e non... Li dentro si sapeva tutto di tutti...!!! Grande ciclista appassionato e praticante... resta nei ricordi una mitica uscita domenicale Mercallo - Cascate del Toce, in compagnia di alcuni allora 25 enni, di lui molto più giovani, ma meno allenati... Narra la cronaca dell'epoca, che dopo essersi lamentato per buona parte del tragitto con i compagni di sgambata, causa la loro lentezza, del ritardo alla meta per il pranzo... ( E lui AVEVA FAME..!! ) Una volta finalmente a tavola se ne usci con la mitica frase... " Pe-pe-pe-pe - per mè un brodino..!!! " Grande "Calle"..!!!
