young Sardinian deer "ormonato" sent on October 12, 2014 (16:55) by Paolo Macis. 31 comments, 1868 views. [retina]

, 1/400 f/8.0, ISO 500, tripod. Specie: Cervus elaphus

I read with interest the article, fortunately in the forum you can get this kind of information so congratulations to Paul to Paul for publishing it. So said the wild animals, but I also domestic ones, are always unpredictable in their behavior is in my opinion the man who should have the right approach. My instructions when I accompany tourists on safari always start from here, the correct approach. I think that in this case the man has wrong twice, first getting too close and second offering of the food. Before accepting a wild animal food must establish a relationship of trust with those who offered him, it was probably in this delicate phase, while in the occurrence of two bicycles can be interpreted as a threat induced by the deer and so attacked. In Africa I got to have elephants just a few meters, certainly heart-pounding but if avvicinated with the right approach after realizing if they were accepted, most of the time you do not run risks. I said most of the times ...... always remain wild animals. By the way congratulations for your portfolio on deer really well made and of course, made by passionate naturalist photographer before.

I love the light that throws on the muzzle and that contrasts with the darkness behind .. sometimes these sharp contrasts reward and this seems to me one of these cases ..

for the rest of the situation is spectacular, the shot is very special and the laying of the animal is outstanding wow! in short, congratulations for the handle and the coldness .. patience and perseverance pay so much ..

top photo editor would pick for me without even thinking about it;-);-);-)

Pmaffio Paul certainly is too modest to say it, but he is one of the greatest connoisseurs of this species

I would not be worried by the horns, the males "ormonati" have the libido of a lifer:-D
Turning serious, great shot, beautiful strip of light illuminating the subject;-)

But it is no joke that they done and have delivered thee unto pheromones hind bath foam ?? :-D

I would not be wrong, if I remember correctly how to recognize them, it should be a subject for two years, right?

However, many compliments throughout the series !!! ;-)

deer in the number of points does not correspond exactly to the number of years of life of the subject, in the case of a specimen of the Sardinian deer in which the antlers are simpler and more straightforward than the deer euopeo, I think, to occhiometro:-D, which considering the length of the first tips (dagger or glasses) it can be a subject of 3 years.
a greeting, paolo

course analysis of the stage is not the only way to determine the age of an individual, even the size and the psychological attitude towards congeners may help determine more accurately the age-);-)

Paul,
apart from the real and potential risk you progress, the picture is gorgeous with that blade of light that illuminates the subject in a pose almost haughty and regal !!
Compliments

I'll give you my sincere congratulations on the compo seized the moment and the wonderful light. At the end of August is such a thing happened to me in the National Park of Abruzzo with a male big enough. This, too, has stopped about twenty feet from us, moreover we are the "intruders" and it can happen.

Prezioso movement of trot denoted by the two legs that are raised in the cross. Beautiful eye focused on the goal: a photo very significant. wow wow wow!

Well ... the moment of capture is certainly the right one, but the plus is the coldness with which you did, because you were also informed of the facts very reassuring. Double congratulations then. wow wow wow!
