Il fiume è libero, non conosce confini; si allarga, si stringe, si divide poi si ricongiunge nuovamente, modella isole e lanche, le distrugge e ne forma di nuove. La forza della corrente è indescrivibile e la vegetazione, per sopravvivere, si deve adattare alle sue bizzarrie, si deve piegare al suo volere. Quando l'acqua scivola impetuosa trascina con sè tutto ciò che trova sul suo percorso, produce un rumore inquietante e fa apparire tutto più piccolo. Le piene arrivano con irregolarità, abbondanti, quando il caldo si fa sentire e la pioggia scende a quote elevate. Acque travolgenti, arbusti contorti e nebbia persistente potrebbero essere l'immagine di una giornata tetra, uggiosa; me se un accidentale raggio di sole riesce a penetrare attraverso le nubi, dà origine ad un bagliore fantastico incastonato in un paesaggio apocalittico.Allora risaltano i colori estremi, il blu del cielo si riflette nelle acque mosse dalla forza del fiume, il sole filtrante tinge la riva di fuoco e persino la nebbia incolore distribuisce una pennellata ai primi piani sfumando le altre tinte, esageratamente intense. Le forme monotone degli alberi sullo sfondo sono le sole a tenersi in disparte, nei loro toni sommessi, quasi imbarazzate ad intervenire in tanta insolita ed inattesa magnificenza.
