Accampato ad Hveravellir, il forte vento mi aveva costretto a montare la tenda orientata con l'ingresso dalla parte opposta del ghiacciaio Langjokull. Aveva da poco smesso di piovere e faceva un gran freddo. Infilato nel sacco a pelo stavo scaldando l'acqua sul fornellino da campo sotto la verandina della tenda. Improvvisamente il cielo nero si apre e tutto si colora di blu, noto alcune persone imbambolate con lo sguardo perso all'orizzonte. Staranno arrivando gli ufo? incuriosito metto gli scarponi ed esco, mi volto e lo spettacolo mi fa cadere la mascella, vi assicuro che la foto non è all'altezza dello spettacolo della natura dal vivo. Ammiro per qualche secondo, mi rituffo nella tenda armo la 6d con il 100-400, il treppiede è in macchina e sono in mezzo a una palude, non c'è tempo di andare a prenderlo, la luna sorgeva velocemente da dietro il ghiacciaio.
