Peter ti rispondo qui perché potrebbe essere utile anche ad altri forse!
Comunque non sono di Roma ed ero turista anche io, ma immagino che per i Musei Vaticani ci sia sempre gente! Ovviamente sconsiglierei i giorni festivi di punta! Il biglietto puoi prenotarlo online e poi ritirarlo in biglietteria (trovi tutti i luoghi facilmente su google maps). Per la fotocamera nessun particolare problema se non il non poter usare il cavalletto, ma mi sembra anche comprensibile. La scala di Bramante è posta alla fine del percorso!

The ticket you can book it online and then pick it up at the ticket (you can find all places easily on google maps). For the camera no particular problem if the can not use a tripod, but it seems understandable. The Bramante scale is placed at the end of the trail!
