Un omaggio all'omonima pellicola intrpretata da Antony Hopkins che racconta la commovente storia di Bart Munroe.. Anziano neozelandese che aveva un grande sogno, portare la sua Indian Scouth del '27, costruita nel garage dietro casa, a correre sul lago salato di Bonneville,tempio della velocità, e conquistare il record nella sua categoria...!!! Investi tutti i suoi risparmi per attraversare il mondo, e dopo mille peripezie, riusci nel suo intento di provare a lanciarsi sulla distesa salata che tanto aveva bramato.... Lasciò tutti esterrefatti e a bocca aperta... Lo fece..!!! Una storia che commosse tutti gli organizzatori, che lo invitarono a tornare a loro spese negli anni a seguire... Una storia d'altri tempi... film consigliato anche a chi non appassionato di motociclismo... Non ve ne pentirete... So Long Bart... R.I.P.

Mitica. Questa versione della Indian, per la presenza della sirena, mi sembra quella in dotazione alla polizia. Per qualche anno è stata la moto più veloce del mondo, da notare l'ammortizzatore anteriore a balestra :) e la modernità della V stretta dei cilindri, di presunta ispirazione proveniente dai motori stellari degli aerei ad elica di allora. Particolare è il serbatoio che si attacca sotto al telaio e non sopra. L'ampio manubrio ed il fanalone la caratterizzavano ulteriormente. Meritava di essere immortalata :) Un saluto Baldassarre
