A Coriano, nell'immediato entroterra di Rimini, sorge un cimitero di guerra inglese. La scorsa estate ci sono andato, e sono rimasto profondamente colpito da quel luogo che emana pace, serenità e speranza nonostante tutto. Ci sono stato per tre intere mattinate, ma - a parte i solerti e cortesissimi addetti alla manutenzione - non ho incontrato nessuno. E neanche al vicino cimitero dedicato al battaglione dei Gurkha indiani, altrettanto curato e altrettanto ignorato. Anche se, a pochi chilometri di distanza, le spiagge brulicavano di turisti. E' doloroso vedere quanti giovani soldati siano morti in quella sanguinosa battaglia del settembre 1944, per lo sfondamento della linea gotica. E' commovente che il loro Paese continui a dedicare tanta cura alla memoria dei suoi caduti, è deplorevole che chi ha beneficiato del loro sacrificio li ignori. Ho cliccato il mi piace su tutte le foto di questa galleria per un giusto tributo a chi, a volte senza volerlo, è caduto per le bizze di altri e forse senza saperne il perché.
