Piero é un piccolo borgo che attualmente conta 20 abitanti. E' una frazione di Curiglia-Monteviasco in Val Veddasca (Varese) alle pendici del Monte Lema. I mulini di Piero vennero edificati nel secolo XVIII ed adibiti alla macinazione del grano. Costruiti in pietra e legno sono situati sopra il torrente Giona che proseguendo il suo corso sfocia nel Lago Maggiore. Con l'abbandono delle popolazioni, anche i mulini videro la decadenza, salvo poi essere fatti oggetti di restauri alla fine degli anni 90. Oggi, essendo raggiungibili solo a piedi con un facile sentiero in una quindicina di minuti, si presentano in un ambiente molto piacevole con un'atmosfera d'altri tempi, tra sentieri, boschi e pascoli: pace e silenzio la fanno da padroni.
