I allow myself to enter and say something absolutely simple and perhaps even trivial, already heard and resented. Likes and positive comments do not mean that that photo is the absolute top. With this I'm not judging this photo in particular, but a way in general to say that sometimes on this site I see excellent works that unfortunately remain too anonymous. Works that no one smokes, and that maybe there is precisely that search for form, aesthetics and content fused together, works that are not in any photographic competition, where often unfortunately (and I repeat, I am not talking about this photo or the alleged competitions in which it received high scores) there are also many trivialities. Having said that, I believe that every discussion and criticism must always be a stimulus to go further. But I realize that not everyone can think so.

@Anelanna
I fully agree,
with two small insights: certainly there are quality photos that for the most varied reasons have not been appreciated as much as they deserve but a photo that receives awards of various kinds may not please everyone, but it has already received a judgment of merit, all the more consolidated the more diversified the awards; criticism to be a stimulus must be proactive and aimed at improving the photo while the criticism aimed at diminishing a photographic genre in itself, with the implicit exaltation of one's own way of photographing can hardly be useful, particularly when proposing positions that are already well known and defined, widely known by the reader.

A me piacciono, o perlomeno i brani fatti fino ad ora.......

Now, we were missing your admirable intervention to crown this umpteenth dialogue between the deaf.
I forced myself not to continue answering, given the usual obvious misunderstandings.
Don't expect him to do it with you.
In fact, I remove the notifications for this photo.

@ orablu

I am convinced that no one is the custodian of photographic orthodoxy, not even those who, even rightly, are considered real gurus of the shot. The emotion you want to convey with a photograph is important, even regardless of the technical and aesthetic canons. In fact, there are examples of technically imperfect photos that have marked the perception of a certain historical moment or have given a turning point to history itself. What makes a photographer special is the message that his shots convey to the observer and not only the technical perfection and aesthetics of the same; these last two elements for their own sake, in my opinion, make the value of the photo disappear.
I conclude with an appreciation for the photographic 'identity' of Maurizio Trifilidis: I like the photo 'Sun and wind' as I like all the series of ethnic shots that the author has published.
