Beautiful photo, appreciable and shareable your reflection: the Israelis do not yet have a peaceful and light life, even after Auschwitz, from their 1948 to today: here a slice of cake and a bouquet of flowers are the special ingredients of what should be to be serene and at peace with the world.

A truly touching image and reflection. I don't know the song but I'll listen to it, hoping for better times. even if the desire to hope passes now ...

Unfortunately you are completely right in your comment. You did well to publish it, certain situations must always be remembered and not resigned by taking them for granted.
Greetings.
Roberto

Somewhere I have a couple of Giants records.... given by my Uncle
But I remember this image well ..... throughout Israel... I was there for work in the 90s ..... The first day in the hotel I was sitting at the table waiting to eat and next to me sat two individuals ...... One placed a magnum on the table and the other hung the shoulder strap of the machine gun on the back of the chair :-/ around I saw women taking the bus with the rifle over the shoulder like the handbag :-o but the most incredible thing is that for them everything is normal
in Bethlehem.... in front of the Church of the Nativity..... There was a turret with a heavy machine gun that controlled the whole square....... incredible..... how can you live like this :-(
This beautiful and paradoxical image shows perfectly what I saw in 15 days of stay
Bravissimo Paolo
Complimenti ;-)

Dear friends,
Vale
Roberto
Stefano

fortunately, at least until now, we are not used to such situations so it is really difficult to understand this pseudo "normality".
Thank you very much for your very welcome attention and for your sensitivity.
A very affectionate greeting and a good start to the week,
Paolo

... in fact it makes an impression, it could be any three students having a snack, exchanging flowers etc, ... And instead submachine guns appear.
It makes good the air that unfortunately pulls in different parts of the world.
Anyway very nice photo.
Congratulations, hello, Alessandro
