A photo that gives chills: I was very small but I still remember the images of the black and white TV of the earthquake of 1968: heartbreaking; it clenches its heart to think how many poor people lost their homes and suddenly found themselves with nothing, and many having to mourn dead family members.

Yes, the sad thing is to walk along the course of Poggioreale and think that before there was a community with its life. Sad, very sad. Greetings Merak and thank you for your thoughts.

Not to forget. There is something similar in the extreme west of Liguria: Bussana vecchia and the old parish church of Bajardo, not far as the crow flies; struck by a devastating earthquake in the second half of the 1800s. Five years ago I spent a few days resuming the many interesting villages of the Imperia hinterland. Congratulations and good evening. Anonymous

Well done, it manages to convey sadness and brings to mind the worrying topicality .... congratulations

Beautiful testimony, however sad at the thought of so many daily lives and lives swept away by the force of natural elements.
Behind those crumbling walls, the memory of existences shines through.
This is, in my opinion, the real strength of your shot.
Congratulations Alfonso.
A warm greeting,
Andrea

I visited him and I dared to take some shots almost with confidentiality and respect for that silence in which all those moments of life that was and of that tragic event were enclosed. I can assure you that, at least I, the sensations inside me, I have experienced them all. A place that undoubtedly deserves respect because it is as if every stone, every house left every street, told its own story. Then sitting in what was once the square, I listened to those silences that had so much to tell
Thanks again Dylan
A sincere greeting from Mario ? ♂?

... in agreement with you, every corner, every wall, every rubble have to tell and that silence actually makes you reflect as well as think about the everyday life of that place. Greetings

Being convalescing at home, I can afford the luxury of rummaging through Gallery altrue in search of hidden gems.
For example, I missed this and I find it as powerful as the title that represents it.
Excellent shooting and testimony, the half-open and abundantly destroyed shutters are the ones that visually attract my attention.
maximum.
