Nascosta dalla finestra di casa mia, guardo che succede fuori. La vita sta scorrendo, ci sono persone che passeggiano per la periferia di Los Angeles, persone al cellulare per telefonate di lavoro, taxi che sfrecciano direzione Malibù, e dai miei vicini sono arrivati i parenti con dei bambini piccoli. Vedo molto calore, deve essere bello avere una famiglia calorosa penso. Questa visione mi fa tornare indietro nel tempo, e penso a cosa ho sbagliato per ritrovarmi sola. Penso a quanto sarebbe bello se si potesse tornare indietro e poi ora girarmi nella stanza e vedere mio marito che mi chiede dove sono i suoi calzini, i miei due bambini che bisticciano perche' vogliono vedere due cartoni animati diversi. Il mio pastore scozzese che mi guarda con aria speranzosa perché lo porti a passeggio. E invece no, la vita non torna indietro, e quindi continuo a guardare ancora quello che se fossi stata piu' determinata nei miei obiettivi ora avrei potuto avere..
