Il Palazzo Nicastro, raffinata struttura nobile del tardo barocco con balcone e ringhiera panciuta in ferro battuto sulla facciata, è un monumento riconosciuto dall'Unesco. L'edificio si trova lungo la Salita del Commendatore, questa via era, all'epoca, l'unico asse viario che collegava la parte superiore ed inferiore della città. L'attuale immobile, costruito dopo il terremoto del 1693 e ultimato nel 1760 (data incisa sulla sommità del palazzo), poggia su di un altro edificio il cui impianto è ancora visibile per la presenza di una stalla, che risale a prima del periodo barocco. Pare che il Palazzo presentasse un ampio giardino interno ed una scala esterna che permettevano l'accesso diretto alla vicina chiesa dell'Itria. Oggi è proprietà del Comune di Ragusa.
