Il 25 novembre non è una data casuale, in questo giorno furono uccise dopo averle torturate tre sorelle Mirabal, attiviste politiche della repubblica Domenicana. La giornata internazionale per l'eliminazione della violenza contro le donne fu istituita dalle Nazioni unite nel 1999.
