Parco del Gargano. - Lago di Lesina (FG), in una ripresa eseguita al tramonto dal lungolago dell'omonimo paese. In primo piano, i caratteristici 'sandali' a riposo. Il lago viene detto "Pantano" dal vecchio Plinio, ed ancora oggi questo modo di indicarlo accomuna i due laghi costieri del Gargano, quello di Lesina e quello di Varano, nel linguaggio comune usato dagli abitanti locali. Lesina, chiamata anticamente Alexina, è di origine remota, come dimostrano le tombe preromane e le iscrizioni romane rinvenute nell'area della città. Alcune fonti, invece, accreditano l'origine del luogo all'arrivo di un gruppo di pescatori provenienti dalla dirimpettaia Dalmazia nel 665 d.C. dall'isola che anche oggi porta il nome di Lésina (Hvar).
