Tutte le foto sono state fatte, in momenti diversi, con la Olympus OMD EM10 MKII - Obiettivi: Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm f/4-5.6 e Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 9-18 mm f/4-5.6. Progettato in stile neogotico da Francesco Gualandi di Bologna in onore della prima apparizione mariana del 22 marzo 1888, e scolpito interamente in pietra locale da artisti del posto e di Pietrasanta ed abbellito internamente da mosaici policromi, vide la posa della prima pietra il 22 settembre 1890 e la consacrazione il 21 settembre del 1975. Si trova a circa 300 metri dalla SS 17 Campobasso-Isernia (svincolo di Caselpetroso) a un'altitudine di 800 m.; dal Santuario si inerpica sul monte Patalecchia, che domina la vallata, un percorso pedonale denominato Via Matris che invita i pellegrini a meditare i 7 dolori di Maria raffigurati, in altrettante stazioni, da statue di bronzo ad opera di rinomati artisti. Al culmine di questo percorso, a un'altitudine di circa 930 m. si trovano il luogo delle apparizioni e la fonte dell'acqua miracolosa, in prossimità dei quali è stata eretta, nel 1947, la Cappella delle apparizioni, dal cui piazzale si può godere dell'ampio panorama.
