Conzano è un piccolo borgo del Monferrato Casalese di un migliaio di abitanti si e no. Agli inizi del XX secolo il paese ha avuto una massiccia emigrazione degli abitanti in Australia, soprattutto nel Queensland settentrionale. Per ricordare questo evento, nel 1922 il piccolo Comune fu gemellato con la cittadina australiana di Ingham e la piazza principale fu chiamata piazza Australia. Qui in foto la chiesa di San Maurizio, fondata nel 1418 da Teodoro II, Marchese del Monferrato; nel 1437 vi fu sepolta la figlia Sofia, moglie di Giovanni VIII Paleologo, imperatore d'Oriente.
