Quello che si vede in foto è ciò che resta di un pioppeto che sorgeva alla periferia sud di Vercelli, dopo la violenta tromba d'aria che si è abbattuta in zona nel tardo pomeriggio di mercoledì della scorsa settimana. Gli alberi si sono “inchinati” al vento che soffiava a 100 km all'ora: la maggior parte di loro è stata spezzata di netto, in pochi sono rimasti all'impiedi ma inesorabilmente piegati verso est, la direzione in cui ha proseguito la tempesta che nel suo cammino ha toccato parte del novarese e del milanese dove alla fine si è spenta.
