La chiesa del San Salvatore sorge su una delle quattro rupi che dominano l'abitato di Nicosia (EN) e fu costruita nel XII secolo. In seguito ad un crollo, fu ricostruita nel XVII secolo; della struttura originaria rimane solo la torre campanaria. La facciata principale è in pietra, con un portale molto semplice; la facciata ovest presenta un portico a quattro archi, visibile in foto, da cui si domina buona parte dell'abitato cittadino e delle campagne circostanti. All'esterno vi sono due meridiane, una delle quali serviva ad annunciare l'arrivo delle rondini e dell'imminente primavera. L'interno presenta una sola navata. A destra della chiesa, si erge la canonica col suo magnifico terrazzo da cui si gode un pregevole panorama, sin verso l'Etna.
