Il paese di Burgos si distende ai piedi del Castello del XII secolo. Nella fortezza, arroccata su una vetta nella sub-regione storica del Goceano, Adelasia visse in solitudine gli ultimi anni della sua vita. Nel Medio Evo ? tra il IX e il XIV secolo ? la Sardegna era amministrativamente divisa in Giudicati, entità statali autonome e sovrane governate da re o “Giudici” e fondate su un sistema semi-democratico all'epoca all'avanguardia. Ma il cavaliere era spesso un paesano che viaggiava sul suo ronzino, o un armigero in perlustrazione.
