Modica è un museo a cielo aperto. Difficile descriverla, bisogna starci. Perdersi nei vicoli, salire e scendere le scalinate che affacciano su scorci mozzafiato e panorami unici. Modica va odorata: quando le cioccolaterie e le dolcerie sfornano le specialità locali, quando il gelsomino fiorito ti avvolge nelle notti d'estate. Modica va gustata, facendo colazione con la granita nei bar del bellissimo centro storico. Modica va ascoltata. Sentire l'eco fra un costone e l'altro, in estate, seduti sulle scalinate della Mater Ecclesia San Giorgio con tutto il quartiere di Cartellone davanti, è un'esperienza imperdibile. Ma Modica va anche perdonata. Quando le campane delle tante chiese al mattino non ti fanno dormire, quando scatena i sensi, quanto ti avvolge, ti abbraccia, e ti fa venire voglia di non andare più andare via.
