Jökulsárlón è il più grande e conosciuto lago di origini glaciali dell'Islanda. Situato a sud del ghiacciaio Vatnajokull, apparve per la prima volta tra il 1934 e il 1935, oggi a causa dello scioglimento accelerato dei ghiacciai Islandesi la sua superfice è di 18 km2, per una profondità di 260m.
