But poverooo! Okay, it's a great shot, even if the prey is tenderness, is life really good, in certain situations it is easy to get caught up in the frenzy of the moment, you have taken over the scene very well despite the light a bit 'stronger.

Congratulations
Luca

Even my compliments for the time being educated, very good document, I did not think the little creatures were within the menu of the Herons.

I do not agree on the speech "bloody scene". The nature photographer nature takes its entirety, is the struggle for survival.
Have you ever wondered how they are killed pets that all of us are ready to shop, maybe those are the "bloody scenes."

Thank you all!
James ....... I used the adjective does not seem out of place ... you can not say that this scene is not bloody (a rabbit stuck in the beak of a heron) ... this does not mean that there it can be (as in the example that you do) worse.

excellent paper and very good photo, I have read all the posts and I can understand that many have made the scene worth but define the nature of "cruel" is wrong, the nature is neither good nor bad nn, nn is neither cruel nor compassinevole, nature is point, it is the eternal struggle between predator and prey soppravvivono where only the best and where nothing is wasted, it is so for millions of years and will hopefully still the same and we are in a position to give nn judgments to the eating habits of a heron or any other wild animal, in the end how would the good Bear Grills .... protein ...

Hello and thank you all!
From Mario, do not say that you herons have become obnoxious ... it's nature ... to me was sorry to see this scene, but in any case we see that the heron had to eat ...
