Considerato l'uccello nazionale del Peru', il galletto di roccia (cock-of-the-rock) vive nelle fitte foreste pluviali montane e nelle foreste nebulose delle Ande, fra i 500 e i 2400 m; la fitta vegetazione e la luce scarsa rendono difficile fotografarlo bene. I maschi si esibiscono in spettacolari danze e schermaglie per conquistare le femmine. Questo e' un esemplare maschio della ssp. 'saturatus', endemico delle zone ad est e sud di Cusco fino alla Bolivia. Emozione indimenticabile. Un cordiale saluto a tutti!
