Hastings è una località balneare sulla Manica nella contea dell'East Sussex. Ha una lunga spiaggia di sassi ma non è una cittadina che incanta per la sua bellezza. La conosco perché in quella zona fu combattuta nel 1066 la battaglia decisiva tra gli invasori, i Normanni di Guglielmo il Conquistatore, e i Sassoni di Re Odone. Questa battaglia ha scritto la storia inglese con la conquista Normanna. Non sapevo nulla di più, ma abbiamo deciso di passare una mattinata a Hastings. Giornata uggiosa, cielo grigio piatto, una passeggiata sulla spiaggia due passi nel centro e poi porto mi figlio a farsi i capelli da un barbiere tipico del luogo…uscendo dalla sua bottega mi accorgo di un atmosfera davvero particolare che sta maturando: dal mare sta arrivando un fronte nuvoloso enorme che non promette nulla di buono; è la svolta della giornata! Corro subito sulla spiaggia e poi sul pontile per raccogliere immagini davvero suggestive ed emmozionanti che sono proprio contento di proporvi. Questa è la prima buona visione!
