Il Tempio di San Biagio è situato appena fuori la città di Montepulciano ed è posto al centro di un prato pianeggiante là dove la Val d'Orcia s'innesta nella Val di Chiana. Capolavoro dell'artista che lo concepì, Antonio da Sangallo detto il Vecchio, il Tempio è considerato uno dei massimi esempi dell'architettura italiana del Cinquecento. La sua imponenza e la magnificenza degli interni lo rendono una meta di sicuro interesse per coloro che capitano in zona. Fotografarlo è un'impresa proprio per le sue dimensioni soprattutto in altezza: la foto che ho postato l'ho scattata dall'alto della fortezza medicea - prendendo comunque solo la parte sommitale del monumento - districandomi tra i pini che ne ostruivano la visuale.
