Il Vallo di Diano è un'area pianeggiante della provincia di Salerno. È un bell'esempio di valle longitudinale che un tempo era occupata da un lago, poi svuotatosi. Ai margini della fertile pianura, coltivata a cereali, vite, tabacco, ortaggi, sorgono numerosi centri, tra questi Padula nota per la Certosa di San Lorenzo, il più vasto complesso monastico dell'Italia meridionale nonché uno dei più interessanti in Europa per magnificenza architettonica e copiosità di tesori artistici.
