Pochi giorni prima del congedo, alle 4 di mattina c'è stato un allarme Nato....in pochi minuti ci siamo vestiti e preparati per partire aspettando l'ordine sui camion....ordine che è cessato a mezzogiorno perché il governo aveva deciso di mandare i Lagunari......che erano addestrati in un territorio più simile a quello del Golfo
Comunque il servizio di Leva ci ha temprati e preparati.....e credo che questo lato sia positivo......ma purtroppo sono anche successe cose delle quali a quei tempi non si aveva notizia....soprattutto nell'ambito militare
In un anno nella mia caserma sono morte 2 persone.....poi il ST...ha perso l'alluce....un'altro gravemente ferito che si è salvato grazie ai -42 gradi che c'erano spesso a S.Stefano di Cadore.....la bassa temperatura ha bloccato l'emorragia.....le ultime notizie che ho ricevuto sono che aveva subito oltre 30 interventi chirurgici per la ricostruzione della mandibola e il naso
Un colpo partito dal suo fucile da distanza ravvicinata.....non si sono mai saputi dettagli precisi.....
Altri 2 proprio davanti ai miei occhi.......numerose ferite da schegge a causa dello scoppio ravvicinato di una bomba d'assalto ( uno dei 2 era il nostro nuovo capitano, il vecchio aveva ricevuto i gradi da maggiore ).... io insieme ad altri mi sono buttato e coperto con l'elmetto ricevendo solo numerosi sassi con qualche contusione....
Ne avrei ancora da raccontare.....ma queste erano le più gravi.....ed è proprio per questi motivi che il servizio di Leva è stato abolito credo.....troppi incidenti
Forse bastava fare un addestramento un po meno duro e un po meno lungo
Concludo dicendo che il militare negli alpini mi ha insegnato molto......a conoscere RISPETTARE ed amare la montagna
