La spiaggia di Tindari è famosa per la particolare forma della lingua di sabbia circondata dal mare, che si estende ai piedi di un promontorio e racchiude dei piccoli laghetti. Si racconta che la spiaggia si sarebbe formata miracolosamente in seguito alla caduta di una bambina dalla terrazza del Santuario. La piccola sarebbe poi stata ritrovata sana e salva sulla spiaggia.
