A causare l'inaspettato spettacolo di colori sono delle nubi iridescenti a 20-30 chilometri dal suolo. Queste nubi sono costituite da cristalli di ghiaccio omogenei nella dimensione: la luce del sole incontrandole si diffrange in maniera uniforme. I colori dello spettro sono deviati con angolazioni diverse così risultando in uno spettacolo inaspettato.
