La presenza di piloni ed affreschi a soggetto religioso sulle facciate delle case simboleggia la simbiosi tra la vita quotidiana e la dimensione spirituale nel mondo rurale del passato. I piloni, molto numerosi e in gran parte posteriori al Seicento, potevano essere sia devozionali che votivi o rogazionali.
