Borgo Calvenzano è esempio di tipologia architettonica determinata da specifica utilità. Sono otto fabbricati di due piani, costruiti dal 1816, con pianta disposta "a corte" (ringhiera) e con portici presenti su tre lati, nord, est, sud. Al piano primo residenziale. Al piano terra si sviluppò tutta l'attività attinente la navigazione commerciale sul Naviglio Pavese e, quindi: magazzini, scuderie per la "forza motrice", spedizionieri, osterie con alloggio etc... Il naviglio credo sia in disuso da una cinquantina d'anni ma, nell'ultimo lustro, ha trovato nuova vivacità grazie alla pista ciclabile che porta, con la massima sicurezza, fino in centro a Milano. Esperienza ripetuta alcune volte con soddisfazione.
