Il rezzaglio è un'antica rete da pesca di forma circolare che viene lanciata a mano dai pescatori. Le sue origini si perdono nella storia e, con esso, si pratica un tipo di pesca antichissimo ma ancora in uso. Ho incontrato questo pescatore mentre ero in cerca del posto migliore per scattare delle foto al tramonto, in un luogo isolato in cui gli unici rumori presenti avevano origine dallo sciabordio delle acque del mare e dal fruscio del vento che si insinuava nei canneti e tra le fronde dei tamerici. Sono rimasto affascinato vedendolo all'opera, intimamente immerso nella natura, costantemente attento ad ogni minimo segnale che tradisse la presenza della spigola che, al crepuscolo, si avvicina alla riva per cacciare i cefali. Si posizionava con le gambe leggermente divaricate e ben ancorate alla sabbia e con un movimento ritmico e ben eseguito lanciava la rete non appena vedeva le bolle d'aria originate dal pregiato pesce. Un'immagine che rievoca un legame arcaico dell'uomo con la natura che qui in Sicilia è ancora presente.
