La medina di Marrakech è un caleidoscopio di storie ed umanità che ad ogni angolo ti sorprende e non può lasciarti indifferente. L'ho girovagata per tre giorni senza meta, tra i vicoli e gli angoli più nascosti, respirando vapori e rumori, ammirando personaggi incredibili, luci, colori. Sto per tornare al riad, quando vengo attratto da lampi di luce che sbucano da un anfratto e d'istinto mi introduco, scendo delle ripide scale e mi trovo nelle viscere di Marrakech. Laggiù in fondo un uomo seduto su mucchi di segatura sta gettando nella bocca di un forno manate della sua lettiera, pezzi di legno, resti di animali morti (alla sua sinistra si intravede un arto bovino) e quella bocca gli risponde sputando vampate di fuoco, come un alito infernale. Scatto incredulo e gli chiedo cosa stia facendo e lui mi risponde: "Faccio il fuochista" ... sta lì tutto il giorno, tutti i giorni ad alimentare il fuoco della caldaia sotterranea di uno dei tanti hammàm di Marrakech, dove i musulmani vanno per purificarsi prima della preghiera e gli altri per cercar benessere. Mi sembra di essere in un set cinematografico, dove la scenografia è stata pensata e costruita nei minimi particolari, la teiera, la lampadina appesa al filo, lo scopone, la polvere e la fuliggine sedimentate, i muri scrostati ed anneriti, la grata in alto che fa entrare un fascio di luce. Scatto ancora, lo ringrazio, risalgo in superficie a malincuore, consapevole di aver avuto per un attimo il privilegio di sfiorare l'anima di Marrakech. #MenAtWork #Fuoco #Interni
