Give us this day our daily bread .. sent on December 21, 2013 (18:27) by Sergio Pan. 78 comments, 4595 views.

Dear Sergio, photos really intense. I will not repeat here the comments already 'other facts, which I share. Instead, I wanted to ask you a technical question. I see that hia mounted to the 1.4X 70-200. I suppose, then, that you were a length 1.4 x 200 = 280, or down 'to them'. How come a focal length so 'high for this shot? I see that picture and 'excellent stops to 1/100 sec. Have you adopted quanche precaution, or stabilization and 'enough to click the "on the fly" stop to these days? Thanks. Many compliments, Mark.

Once again thank you dock, it is always a pleasant surprise to find your comment on my photos. Thank you very much for what you wrote about this gallery in general and this particular photo. As I'm sure you may have noticed, since you've had the patience and the perseverance to look at my shots, especially in the photograph I prefer the emotional aspect of the subject, which it sends to itself through a simple sgardo. I am not so foolish as to not feel important to the technical aspect, in fact, to the extent of my ability I try to treat him at the most, but I do not think it's just the technical ability to make an interesting photo. Personally, the first thing I value in a photo is its ability to involve me emotionally move me, then I look at the rest.

So your comment & egravand; really a great compliment for me, thank you very much.

Hello Mark, and first of all let me thank you for appreciating the intensity of this shot.
Coming to your curiosity, I can tell you that the 70-200 is the lens that I prefer, and almost always the one I use. As you may have noticed, I love to photograph faces, eyes, people, and my passion for this focus is optimal because it gives me the versatility to capture faces without invading the privacy of the subject, ie without passing go attached to the nose.
And that, to me, is very important because, from my experience, I have seen that many people, if you are too close, they feel intimidated or worse, tend to assume unnatural poses, not spontaneous, and you run the risk of make photo cards .. Leave some space helps a lot and makes the subjectease. That's the reason for my preference for this perspective.
And when I'm in open spaces or where it is not always possible to interact with the subject (as in this case, I was in a market) then I mount even the 1.4 multiplier, which, while losing some 'of sharpness, while still maintaining quality very high.
I do not remember precisely in this specific case, but I would say that I was so memorized by the subject at a distance of about 4/5 meters.
As for image quality, I can say that I always shot free-hand: is this view to be exceptionally sharp. But it is also a perspective quite difficult, because it does not forgive mistakes of focus; and provided that the Canon 5D II is not exactly the best accuracy as the focus (at least for mand), the only real precaution that I adopt is to always make 3 or 4 shots each time slightly moving the frame, and this in order to have the almost certainty of having at least one snap perfectly clear.

I hope I have satisfied your request Mark; Thanks again for visiting and for the compliments and warm greetings.
