La grande piazza (la cosiddetta “Castle Esplanade”) su cui si affaccia il conosciutissimo “Edinburgh Castle” viene occasionalmente convertita in un enorme anfiteatro, con circa 8600 posti a sedere, per concerti e manifestazioni all’aperto nel periodo estivo di cui una delle più importanti è la “The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo” in cui diverse bande militari si esibiscono tra danze tradizionali e marce militari di diverso tipo. Le enormi gradinate vengono montate su tre lati della piazza lasciando “libero” solo il lato su cui si affaccia l’ingresso al castello determinando, almeno per me, un bellissimo colpo d’occhio. E così, mentre tutti erano intenti a fotografare l’imponente facciata del castello io mi sono messo a fotografare, non senza lo sguardo stupito di parecchi passanti, posti... a sedere.
