Semaforo Vecchio è situato lungo il percorso che porta da Camogli al punto più elevato del Promontorio di Portofino, posta a 610 mt. s.l.m.. Sul sentiero si trovano delle colonnine con edicole che raffigurano i quindici Misteri del Rosario che ripercorrono la vita di Gesù, antico ricordo delle processioni religiose come ringraziamento per la scampata peste. L’antico semaforo costituisce parte di una linea semaforica costiera,eretta nel 1870. La sua funzione iniziale era di sorveglianza del mare e di stazione meteorologica per le navi.
