Antonio Canova “Le tre grazie” (particolare) - Non era infrequente, in passato, che alcuni artisti realizzassero una loro opera in diverse “copie”. Esempio tipico è la famosissima pala “La Vergine delle rocce” di Leonardo da Vinci di cui esiste una prima versione, realizzata tra il 1483 ed il 1486, attualmente esposta al “Musèe du Louvre” di Parigi ed una seconda versione, che differisce in alcuni particolari, realizzata tra il 1506 ed il 1508, ed attualmente esposta alla “National Gallery” di Londra. E dello stesso Canova che del suo “Perseo trionfante o Perseo con la testa di Medusa” eseguì addirittura tre copie (che differiscono tra di loro solo per qualche centimetro di altezza) di cui la prima, realizzata tra il 1797 ed il 1801, è esposta ai “Musei Vaticani” di Roma ed altre due, realizzate negli anni successivi, sono rispettivamente esposte al “Metropolitan Museum” di New York ed al “Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Museum” di Copenhagen. E si potrebbero citare molti altri casi. Così, anche delle “Tre Grazie”, Antonio Canova, tra il 1812 ed 1817, realizzò due “copie”: la prima, in cui la colonna di appoggio per le fanciulle è quadrata, è custodita presso il “Museo dell'Hermitage” di San Pietroburgo e la seconda, che differisce dall'altra solo per la colonna rotonda, è condivisa dal “Victoria and Albert Museum” di Londra e dalla “Scottish National Gallery” di Edinburgo. Per il titolo mi sono ispirato al divertentissimo cult natalizio di Chris Columbus “Mamma, ho perso l'areo”.

Capirete che, per uno come me, che non ha mai avuto modo di fotografare una modella trovarsene davanti addirittura tre era un'occasione irripetibile per cercare di "combinare" qualcosa di... decente.MrGreen

Avevo già visto quest'opera al "Victoria and Albert Museum" di Londra ma qui la luce era molto più bella ed anche la "disposizione" dell'opera mi è sembrata più appropriata rispetto alla "collocazione" londinese: il nero intenso dello sfondo era, in realtà, un bel rosso acceso che mi ha fatto pensare a lungo sull'efficacia della conversione in b/n ma alla fine, il candore del bianco del marmo, mi ha fatto optare per il monocromatico in quanto, la versione a colori, conferiva al primo piano un leggero colore rosato che, secondo me, "toglieva" qualcosa all'opera del Canova.
