Umbria - Montefalco. Gli Agostiniani, ebbero in concessione dal comune di Montefalco, nel 1275, un terreno a suo tempo chiamato Borgo del Castellare, appena fuori la prima cinta muraria, lungo l'asse viario principale che andava dalla platea centrale al portone di Santa Maria, dove esisteva una chiesetta dedicata a San Giovanni Battista. Nel 1279, sulle sue fondamenta, fra Angelo de' Conti da Foligno iniziò la costruzione dell'attuale chiesa in stile gotico, terminata nel 1285 e intitolata a Sant'Agostino Vescovo e dottore della chiesa. Nella sua facciata in pietra bianca e rosa del Subasio è rincassato un pregevole portale ogivale con fasci di colonnine dai colori alterni sormontati da eleganti capitelli, diversi nei due lati, decorati a fogliaceo di rara ed equilibrata eleganza decorativa.
